LA Yid- 12/06/08 Great ambiance, perfect for a date. The Bocca steak is AMAZING. I'm a big steak lover, but there was so much meat I couldn't even finish it. Also, the roasted potatoes were perfectly seasoned. One drawback: we sat in a more obscure area, not in the middle of the restaurant, and service was slow to get to our table. You shouldn't have to wait over 30 minutes for your entree, and another 15 minutes for dessert. So if you don't mind waiting a little longer for your food, excellent choice.

Mike- 11/07/08 Absolutely the best bagels you will ever taste in New York City. Their Roasted Salmon is pretty good too. They are the best!! Definitely recommended if you are in the area, worth it!!!

This contest is designed for at least two reasons. One is to reward this fine establishment for their very serious efforts and excellence in serving our readership, and the other is to motivate and inspire other establishments to strive for the necessary improvements that will provide our community with the standards that we a) would like to have, b) are willing to pay for and are paying for already, and c) we deserve.
The management at Wendyâ€™s Plate is knowledgeable enough about the restaurant business to know that the service is as important as the food. There are no amateurs here, only and strictly professionals. Rachel, the main and very well known waitress in Wendyâ€™s has evolved into a member of our community that enjoys celebrity-level status, and is considered to be like family to hundreds, if not thousands of our people. She is a delight to be greeted by, a delight to watch in action greeting others as they come in, and a pleasure to spend a few minutes ordering your meal from and being served by.
As far as the food, Wendyâ€™s Plate is a restaurant where favorites flourish. There are so many great dishes, and I canâ€™t think of one bad one. My personal favorite is the Planked Salmon, grilled on cedar wood, and served with roasted potatoes and vegetables. The flavor comes from the spices and the wood. The fish is always as fresh as can be, and this may be the healthiest and most satisfying meal I can think of anyplace. For a perfect change of pace, the Tuna Bourbon, pan seared, with a bourbon light cream sauce, is also incredible. I have seen many friends show up, especially the women, craving the Macaroni & Cheese, described on the menu as baked with creamy cheddar cheese till crisp on top and creamy on the inside.
In short, all of their fish dishes, including the occasional blackboard specials such as the current Walnut Crusted Baked Flounder, are exceptional. Similarly, the pasta dishes, of which there are 14 listed on the menu, plus a few more on the blackboard, are always fresh, creative, and delicious. Combination fish & pasta dishes such as the Linguini with Salmon and the East West Pasta (with fresh tuna and wasabi) also deserve special mention.
Also featuring wraps, sushi, pizza and omelettes, Wendyâ€™s Plate is perhaps best known for it salads. The â€śKitchen Sinkâ€ť served with the restaurants own balsamic vinaigrette, in my opinion is easily the best take out item in all of Brooklyn, with or without the optional side order of fresh grilled tuna or salmon, or a scoop of tuna salad. Every one of their salads is fresh, healthy, and really delicious including the Greek Salad, Caesar Salad, Mesclun Salad, Nicoise Salad, and the Tuna Garden Salad with the honey mustard vinaigrette dressing.
Coffee and dessert at Wendyâ€™s is its own special pleasure. They have a few fabulous desserts, but I am only going to mention the Hot Chocolate Melting Cake served with Vanilla Ice Cream. This perfect ending to a magnificent meal cannot be described with words, so I wonâ€™t even attempt to.

I am happy that they won the award and wish them hatzlacha rabbah. so many kosher places serve steak, deli, etc. and to find one that offers delicious fresh fish is wonderful. good soup is also important in the winter months. symall is kind to bring such a nice place to our attention. we need more great kosher places to go on special occasions like wendys, which sounds so nice.
Bari Fish Restaurant
Laurie Stambler- 12/20/06 One can not go just once to Bari Fish. As soon as you enter, you know you are in a special place. The smell and the ambiance make you feel that you are in a small Mediterranean village. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was flawless.
To attest to the fact that I love this restaurant is the fact that I have been there several times, and I do not live close by.
The Starters are so unique and delicious. They put small ramekins on the table with a selection of dips and spreads made from eggplant, cucumber and yogurt, hummus to put on oven toasted pitas. The two salads that I have had were the Bari salad and the Crispy Feta. I loved them both. The spices and textures, as well as the freshness of the ingredients are what set this restaurant apart. I have also had the tomato parmesan soup, which I have tried to make at home, but could not make as well as them.
Now to the fish. You can not get fish that is fresher. I have had the Roasted Salmon and the Crispy Bass. My husband has had the whole fish grilled. We both have never experienced such tasty fish ever!
The desserts are all made in the restaurant by a pastry chef and they are the perfect ending to a truly great meal. You no longer have to go into the City to have a great dining experience. Once this restaurant gets into Zagat, there will be lines out the door.

Nm- 06/22/05 A non-Jewish friend and I went out to dinner last night. We both have the same very specific food needs, i.e., no sugars. My friend had this salad that was like a piece of art! And I had the house salad (sans currants), both were outstanding! They were very accommodating and gave us roasted skin on potatoes with no sauce. Plus our boneless rib eye steaks done medium-rare were perfect! It was truly a fabulous evening.
