ABOUT Mike's Bistro

Mike's Bistro has moved to 127 East 54th Street (between Lexington and Park Avenue) and the new location is twice the size of its original location. The new Mike's Bistro is a 180 seat establishment with a 25 seat bar, 5 private room and a new menu. Don't worry, your favorite signature dishes are still on there but Chef Mike has added seasonal bounty,  healthy "simply prepared" dishes and fresh fish crudo. 

Mike's Bistro was opened with the intention of bringing the standards of kosher dining in line with the best restaurants in the city. A decade later, Chef Mike continues to raise the bar for himself and his staff.  In fact, the restaurant received a “24” in food and “22” in service in the 2013 Zagat Survey stating “Kosher food gets the ‘gourmet’ treatment at this Upper Westsider where the eponymous chef-owner turns out ‘delicious’ New American dishes; ‘wonderful service’ and ‘Mike going from table to table’ adds value.” Indeed, when one visits the new Mike's Bistro location, the primary goal is to relax and trust the Chef to help plan an excellent meal.  As the restaurant has blossomed over the years, the growth and development of the menu is remarkable. Kosher diners bring non-kosher friends to Mike's tables, demonstrating the fulfillment of Mike's goal with satisfied expressions all around.

Word first spread about Mike's signature Duck Gnocchi, a favorite among all who set lips to a savory spoonful. Once he sets the hook, Chef Mike reels you in with hearty and imaginative entrees, serving classics like lamb shank and Bar-B-Que glazed short ribs. Try the new Seasons Bounty Eggplant Trio, Fungus Among Us and Sufferin' Succotash for a hearty and unique experience with seasonal ingredients. And if you're on a diet or prefer your chicken and steak without any sauces, the new menu has many "Simply Prepared" options including baby chicken, duck breast, rib eye 10 oz. fillet, veal chops and lamb chops. The courtesy of the staff and the warmth of the dining room have always been noted by frequent patrons as the perfect accompaniment to a great meal. When one of Mike's waiters suggests a dish or a modification on a request, you can bet they have your best interests at heart.


The Bistro is perfect for dates, family get-togethers, parties and weddings. Guests are offered three choices for seating:  a sunny and private atrium, a spacious and stylish dining room and an upstairs area with hidden tables and high ceilings. Each can be rented or reserved for a special occasion.  If you want a particular table, be sure to let them know early because the Bistro can fill up quite quickly!  There is also an amply stocked bar full of premium liquors and scotches. Several top-notch wines have found their way to the list; so one can enjoy a meal with affordable merlot or splurge on exceptional cabernet.

Mike's Bistro is such an amazing restaurant. The ambiance is spectacular, the food is delicious, and the service is top-notch. There is no reason why everyone shouldn't be eating here! ENJOY!

I thought it was overpriced, we had the tasting menu, the Duck gnocchi had 2 little thin (very thin) strips of duck, the fillet was good, the desserts were nothing special

the entire dish is slathered in a duck sauce
the meat is pulled into fine strands as a garnish
i loved it...the gnocchi is so yummy
