Having a birthday lunch tomorrow for my daughter. I came in from New Orleans and we are so looking forward to being at the Purple Pear in Monsey The menu looks great and I want to try everything!!!! and its all kosher!!! Happy Birthday Philyss Samuels Seidenfeld, love daddy
The place is pretty nice for a sit-down lunch or dinner. It usually gets pretty crowded, being the only dairy 'restaurant' in Monsey, (Al Di La deserves mention here, but for some reason Purple Pear is frequented much more). The food is great, it has lots of taste and the service is good. I had the French onion soup, and would not recommend it to anyone, however the fish items were great.

Lou - 07/28/10 We went on a Saturday night and it was totally hopping. After we ordered, the food came very quickly. One kid, Eli, was on top of the entire production, making sure everyone got their orders and keeping things moving. Another boy, Tzvi (I think) made an incredible smoothie. The whole place was amazing, with a fun decor, and the food was delicious. The service was friendly yet efficient. They have a great menu (even in the express line). We will have to go up to Monsey to try their other store now. Thanks for having this great site - so many interesting new places to try!

Leah T. Rosen- 10/30/08 Ira Brickman, manager of The Purple Pear does an excellent job of accomodating his customers with professionalism and enthusiasm. We have our business meetings there on a regular basis and the food has been fresh and excellent. Thanks for being so wonderful! Zev Baker is also a tremendous asset to their establishment. Our group will continue to reccomend your restaurant often.
Gail- 02/11/08 the soup/milkshakes were good...mac n cheese not so...'snobby' surroundings not necessary...the food should be able to speak for itself...place was clean, though...and pricey...
Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on 09/19/07 The ownership has not changed but one partner did buy out the other.
The Purple Pear in Monsey
Ephraim Rosenberg- 08/03/07 I recently went to the Purple Pear and ordered, not my usual fettuccini alfredo but, the Fish and Chips instead. Instead of the chips, I was given the choice of having Mashed Potatoes as a substitute. I just wanted to say that I was amazed with every mouthful how delicious it was. The fish was cooked to perfection and I honestly have never had mashed potatoes that taste as good theirs, and I've eaten a lot of mashed potatoes in my lifetime. Boruch Hashem that I live in Monsey so that I can order this unbelievable dish whenever I feel like. The Purple Pear truly has it all, nice atmosphere, clean, fast service, and most importantly unbelievably delicious food. And if you don't feel like dining in, you can order your food, and then go next door to Lishkas HaSofer and shop for seforim while you wait. The Purple Pear will give you a beeper that notifies you when your food is ready.
