Breadsmith is Brooklyn's home of hand made, hearth baked artisan breads. Founded in 1993 by Dan Sterling in Milwaukee WI, his mission was to provide then finest artisan breads in a time honored traditional way. Thier European style artisan breads are made in the tradition of old world master bakers.Their breads and sweets are baked fresh, using the highest quality ingredients, preservative-free, dairy-free, and Kosher Pareve. Each loaf of bread is made by hand and uses a five ton European hearth stone oven for baking.

Breadsmith will continue delivering the highest quality, made-from-scratch baked goods using time-honored baking techniques, while serving each community in which they operate.
Through partnerships with local non-profit organizations, they demonstrate their commitment to community involvement through product and gift certificate donations, sponsorships of local events, and community fundraisers. Their bakeries also take advantage of locally sourced products such as honey, fruits, and vegetables when making their baked goods. In addition, each Breadsmith location donates its unsold baked goods to local food pantries at the end of each day.
