ABOUT Coffee Berry Cafe & Eatery

CoffeeBerry came onto the Upper West Side scene in 2016.  A good escape from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, the café gives off a warm and cozy vibe where one can feel at home. Owner Avigayil Straus opened the restaurant as a business for her son Aryeh, who is the manager.  They have a superb staff led by Chef John, who has decades of experience. They all contribute greatly to comfortable environment one experiences at CoffeeBerry.

They are open from 7am to 8pm with breakfast all day long. However, this is not a penne a la vodka, eggplant parmesan kind of dairy restaurant. Lots of fun and unique items, such as the Spaghetti and Mushroom meatballs, which will amaze you in its consistency. Their Rice Pilaf with dried fruit and nuts, served hot in a clay pot is a standout, interesting menu item as well.

For those looking for the classics, they have this Jewish Big Mac which is Lox and cream cheese on a toasted bagel with thinly sliced red onion, lettuce, tomato and capers. Other options include several different flatbreads such as the Roasted Vegetable Flatbread with eggplant, zucchini, roasted red peppers, tomato, chives, mushroom, leek, potato, onion, parsley. They have several salads and fish plates such as the Omega Me of Grilled Norwegian salmon with baby spinach, roasted artichokes, red onion, baby potatoes, lemon vinaigrette.

[continued above, right]

All the menu items at CoffeeBerry are carefully chosen. The preferences and hobbies of the Upper West Siders are also held in high regard as they have live music every other Saturday night. To quote Chef John, “We believe the concept should match the tastes and need of the community. We strive to meet the ever-changing demands of our customers with a focus on menu, service, and engagement.”
