“Bringing a little bit of Tokyo to Brooklyn” is how owners Chaim Lipsitzi and Schneior Harel describe their sushi establishment. Approaching the two year mark in January 2011, Sushi Tokyo has made quite a name for itself. And get used to it, because they plan to open more locations all over New York. Customers are accustomed to getting fast service and a wide variety of flavors at very reasonable prices. Whether you’re eating in or having them enhance your event with sushi platters, they aim to make sure every customer is satisfied. In fact, they focus heavily on large catering events and school accounts
You will enjoy the cool ambience of this sushi restaurant, with its large mural of the Tokyo city skyline. It casts a sense of drama and sparkle to this otherwise calm and clean environment. There’s
a small sushi bar and a few places to sit at the banquette, with its leather finish and a seatback spiced up with Japanese writing. They’ve recently renovated to earth-tone colors tiles, giving the restaurant a clean and natural feel.

By and large, this is the neighborhood takeout place for superior sushi and they also offer prepared salads and sushi rolls for people who have seconds to spare. This happens often when someone is waiting for the Coney Island Avenue bus right in front. And if you see a motorcycle whizzing by with the Sushi Tokyo logo, you know someone is about to enjoy some really good sushi. They deliver all over the area.
House favorites include the Leo Roll, Tokyo Tempu Roll and Yummy Roll with caviar. In addition, they exclusively offer homemade Sushi Tokyo dishes, such as the Krispy Kosara (see middle left and right pictures). The restaurant is very accommodating in customizing your order, including substituting brown rice for white.
All the sushi is parve, but that doesn’t stop them from serving up some mouthwatering rolls with PARVE cream cheese. So whether you just had meat or dairy, Sushi Tokyo with four top sushi chefs, are ready and able for your sushi order.

Sushi Tokyo is a quaint restaurant on Coney Island Avenue and Avenue J in Brooklyn. I've eaten there on a few occasions and I have also gotten food to go. Instead of a bread basket one is given a bowl of edamame. The eating area is cozy and the staff are friendly. Besides for sushi they also serve an assortment of soups including some traditional Japanese soups like miso soup, which happens to be my favorite. I also enjoyed their vegetable rolls mixed with avocado and crunch. I'm happy that they offer an abundant of rolls with avocado because really enjoy eating avocado. So, of you are looking for a healthy affordable meal, Sushi Tokyo is a good place to go.

On Coney Island Avenue, betweens Avenues J and K, Sushi Tokyo is in a great location and one of my favorite sushi stores. They are open late hours,so if I in the mood for sushi late at night, I know where to do. I recently had their Coney Roll and Bagel Roll. I regretted sharing them and not buying more! It was so fresh! Their Miso Soup was yummy and healthy-looking. I especially enjoy their kani salad. The staff is extremely pleasant and store is clean. I compared their menu to another neighborhood sushi place and saw their prices were better, as well. I would definitely like to go again soon!
Dave- 09/02/10 if your a sushi connoisseur as i am, you will be very pleased to find a takeout style kosher restaurant with all around grade A sushi. Fresh is an understatement! quick service and great people!
