ABOUT Lox Cafe

Lox Cafe at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in the scenic Battery Park in lower Manhattan, overlooks Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Owner David Teyf, has taken Lox to the next level. Their distinctive lox selections are similar to meat, in terms of different cuts, different spices and rubs. For example, their "Lox Five Ways" has the shoulder and belly of the fish along with 5 different flavors.  It includes their "Signature House Lox" of dill and vodka infusion with sea salt and peppercorns, "Pastrami Lox" in a house blend, "Double Smoked Lox" with cold hickory and mesquite smoked, "Grapefruit & Gin Lox" with grapefruit, Juniper berries & 46 botanical house gin and lastly, "Sake Ginger Lox" with wasabi, ginger, sake and soy infused.  


The dishes are prepared and presented in a beautiful yet minimalist style, due to the product being such high quality, and therefore not much more has to be done with it.


One would think a Bagel and Lox Sandwich is something we've all had, but none of us have had it quite as good as it is at Lox. something about this toasted fresh New York Bagel with their signature dill vodka infused lox with whipped cream cheese, cracked pepper, cucumber, tomato and onion is a delicious combination. Another favorite is the Minks Matzo Babka, a savory type of babka which is a special family recipe with fresh garlic butter. The Deviled Eggs at Lox are one of a kind -so creamy stuffed with wild mushrooms and caramelized onions.
