China Glatt, located in the heart of Borough Park’s 13th Avenue shopping district, has been offering generous portions of delectable Chinese food in an upscale atmosphere since 1998. When owner Sholom Witriol started this venture, he used his expertise and knowledge as a frequent diner to come up with Chinese cuisine that customers couldn’t find anywhere else. Once you try their fare, you will agree that he has succeeded.
Besides the staple of kosher Chinese dishes such as Sesame Chicken and Pepper Steak which are always fantastic here, he and his well-trained chefs, with over 40 years of combined experience, came up with exotic and innovative dishes like Grilled Chicken Singapore Style, Ong’s Fong Won Gai and Blai Zing Beef. The special spices and sauces that they use are distinct and flavorful. The restaurant is also well known for their award-winning sushi. In fact, they were a winner in 3 categories in a recent taste test with hundreds of other restaurants. The Boro Park Roll and 13th Avenue Roll are highly recommended.

Sholom, who lives in the neighborhood, has gotten to know his customers and what they like. They’re more than happy to modify the dishes to suit your taste or special diet. The vegetables are constantly checked and everything is made with the finest ingredients. The attentive and efficient staff are always ready to advise and recommend from their abundant variety and selections.
China Glatt is also highly experienced and has a wonderful reputation in catering minor to major events. From your weekly learning program in shul, office parties at work or Sheva Brachot in their private dining room upstairs (see below), Sholom’s constant care is evident with amazing assortment of Chinese and sushi platters. A full selection of wines from countries all over the world, classical music playing in the background, Asian paintings on the walls, flowers on each of the tables, and new custom-made chairs all combine to create an elegant and exciting dining experience.

China Glatt is in a great location on 13th Avenue. It is very elegant and a nice place to eat out for a special occasion or a lunch out with friends or family. They have a variety of Chinese and sushi dishes for all different tongue tastes. I attended a bar mitzvah there years ago and it was really beautifully set up and the food was delicious. I was also there for a birthday party and "just stam." The food is so good! Most times we eat there we go for the Pu-Pu Platter -- you just can't beat being able to taste so many different dishes. I would definitely recommend this place to others!
I honestly do not like travelling to Borough Park, but I do have to admit that China Glatt is worth the trip! My husband and I had the opportunity to go to a party at the home of a coworker, being catered by China Glatt. Overall, the food was great, but the pastrami fried rice really blew us away! Subsequent, to that gastronomic experience, my husband and I decided to venture out to Borough Park. All the food that we ordered was delicious! If anyone is looking for some good Chinese food after the demise of Shang Chai, China Glatt is definitely worth the trip.
What do I subsitute for oyster sauce
I love chinese food especially chicken lo mein. Moshi Moshi in flatbush and China Glatt in boro park have the best chinese food. I would recommend those two resturants as the best kosher chinese resturants in NYC! I love trying out lo mein recipes but in the non kosher recipes they all ask for oyster sauce. I was wondering what the kosher chinese resturants use as a equivelant. I would love if one of the chef's of these resturants, or anyone else who knows could please tell me! thank you!
MICKEY MONTAL- 12/10/09 I've eaten in almost every restaurant in the tri state area. My favorite is China Glatt. I feel that their service and food is fit for a king. My favorite; crispy duck. I haven't found anyone that can beat that dish. I have recommended that restaurant to many of my friends and they have all come back with favorable results. Keep up the good work
