ABOUT Eighteen Restaurant

Located on the Upper East Side, known interchangeably as the hidden gem of the Kosher world and the “Cheers” of the Kosher world, Eighteen Restaurant has managed to capture warmth, vibrancy, and intimacy in a beautifully decorated space. Eighteen Restaurant owned by power couple Sidney and Tammy Cohen, revamped itself into a hip and modern steak, burger, & sushi experience. When food is this delicious, it’s no wonder that Eighteen is celebrating in 2018, eight years of business, quite an accomplishment in the fast paced Manhattan restaurant scene.

In addition to great and affordable food, it has been a memorable spot because of its name’s symbolism in the Jewish religion – “18” numerically in Hebrew is Chai, meaning “Life”. Lunch and dinner is served for families, couples, businesspeople and hipsters alike. Influenced by the NYC downtown vibe, contemporary wood décor (custom made and shipped from Mexico) and candlelit tables, the restaurant provides affordability with comfort; you can even ask for the cozy couch sections- there are two large couch sections to choose from.

At the entrance is a fabulous bar backed by a colorful aquarium.  Top and mid shelf liquors, mixed cocktails and a solid wine menu are ready to serve.  More often than not, customers are gathering and sitting at the bar. At the back of the main dining room there is a sushi bar where customers can experience Chef Kamés (former head sushi chef of the Prime Hospitality Group) omakase style service. His sushi menu includes masterpiece rolls such as the Knockout, Salmon Tempura, Red Dragon and Truffle Roll to name a few.

In addition to the renowned sushi menu, Eighteen’s main menu features fabulous dishes such as the Eighteen Pizza, Yemenite Soup, Moroccan Cigar/Mediterranean Salads combo, the Kebab Bar, charcuterie board and for big time meat eaters:  Chef Philippe's Kings Platter which includes, rib steak, lamb chop, beef and romanian kebab and grilled chicken breast. Last but not least is the heavenly steak section featuring a perfectly char-flamed grilled Romanian tenderloin steak marinated with garlic and peppercorn.  If you’re a burger aficionado, you dreams will come true with Eighteen’s in house ground to perfection and grilled burgers. Favorite among guests is the Eighteen Burger topped with mushrooms and fried onion, introducing the new topping of sunny side up eggs. The Southwest Burger is topped with guacamole and Bermuda onion. There are five other mouthwatering burger choices and even a turkey burger and vegetarian burger option.

[continued above, right]

Chef Philippe has not forgotten about the non-meat eaters; his branzino, salmon and Chilean sea bass entrees served over roasted vegetables are nirvana.  Eighteen also stocks gluten free rolls for burger lovers or anyone who has a gluten free diet. Affordability is important today and Eighteen accomplishes this by including tasty side dishes such as mashed potatoes, french-fries, teriyaki string beans and Israeli salad.

Eighteen has a strong in restaurant and off-site catering and online ordering business. Eighteen caters for all occasions: private, corporate and nonprofit organizations.  Pre-fixe menus are always available to parties of twelve.
