As you step into Spoons Café, you notice a round hanging clock, reminiscent of the timepiece at Grand Central Station. It’s a charming touch for a café set in a neighborhood equally deemed as the Times Square of Brooklyn. Spoons is the café that delivers a satisfying, upscale touch yet with gentle prices. In August 2005, Tzvi Chait opened this Boro Park hot spot, at the corner of 13th Avenue and 50th Street; boasting an all-day menu from gourmet coffees and pancakes, to soups, wraps, and salads; and include generous dinner plates of pastas and fish.
Moments within walking into this vibrant bistro, a friendly wait staff asks if you prefer a table. Although, Spoons is an ideal grab-n-go spot; customers are encouraged to stay for a leisurely breakfast, casual lunch; or a light yet satisfying dinner. During the morning rush, the staff does a bustling take-out business with jumbo omelets, sandwiches, and coffee drinks, while sandwiches, sushi rolls and salads to go are popular with the lunchtime crowds.
The restaurant is spacious with wooden café chairs, and vintage art prints lining the walls that evoke a linger-friendly vibe. The have a large party room in the back easily accessible from the main dining room that is used for special events (it includes a separate entrance as well) or it can be used when the restaurant is full - assuring you a comfortable seat no matter how busy they are.
The menu is full of dishes to savor; especially the sweet desserts and dozens of coffee confections made with gourmet Italian coffees. For the calorie-conscious; Spoons offers a generous selection of fat-free drinks, delicious foods, and a full homemade pastry line. The restaurant also keeps late hours for those on the way home from work while offering quick delivery and curbside pick up. In the heart of the shopping district, Spoons is perhaps best for a sweet breather while you mull over whether or not to splurge on those fabulous flats down the block.
In the summer, a spin-off and lighter version called T-Spoons, is located in the Catskills.

Last winter I got together with an old friend in Spoons of Boro Park. Spoons is an elegant, yet decently priced, dairy restaurant and is conveniently located on 13th Avenue. Despite being busy that Saturday night, the service was pleasant and quick. We had some delicious, fresh salads. I like that this restaurant has many choices from fattening to healthy (with healthy dressing choices). They have pastas, paninis, salads, fish and of course, sushi! Although I had a salad when I was there, I would be happy to return to try some of their other delectable dishes. I've heard good things from others about Spoons BP, too. Thanks for the delicious and pleasant meal!
