"Twenty Six" is out to prove that Kosher dining is cool. Promising a Kosher Culinary Experience, 26 starts with an elegant design by renowned architect Tom Telesco. This family-friendly restaurant includes a main dining room, sushi bar, cocktail bar, patio dining and a private event room. The stylish décor sets the creative tone for super-chef and co-owner Fernando Chang to work his magic. Chang, a local celebrity chef with over a decade of experience conceives dazzling, Kosher sushi and Japanese cuisine.
With 26, Chef Chang embraces the multicultural flavor of Miami, adding unique Kosher tapas creations to the menu. The sushi and tapas are all Chang originals, featuring island spices and tropical garnish. Complementing the incredible sushi and tapas cuisine will be multiple delicious choices of entrees, utilizing a wide variety of fishes seasoned uniquely.
Stand-out items include the Nitro Faux Scallops, fried in tempura batter and served with a sweet and spicy sauce with toasted sesame, the El Morrito Sushirrito, a salmon and shrimp tempura with avocado and scallions, and a Whole Roasted Branzino with lemongrass, mint chimichurri sauce and banana leaf. These are not typical items you would see on a Kosher sushi menu in Florida. 26 is turning up the creativity and taste in a way you just have to experience.
26 is offering luscious gourmet desserts daily that match up with a fine assortment of wines. 26 also has their very own unique sushirritos and variety of sharing platters, which cannot not be found anywhere else on the East Coast. 26 is a dream-come-true for co-owner Morris Kaplan, a Miami Beach resident and successful real estate developer. After searching, unsuccessfully, for years for great Kosher dining in the area, Kaplan felt South Florida deserved a restaurant which offered fine Kosher cuisine along with caring, attentive service.
“Creating a unique Kosher restaurant has been a dream of mine for a long time. Moving to Miami exposed us to many Kosher restaurants, but with Hashem’s help I was able to partner with Fernando, who is the top sushi chef in this area, and we both agreed that providing exceptional food and over the top customer service would be the key to a successful restaurant. We are very proud of our creation” says Kaplan.
