ABOUT Subres Grill

To find true hotspots when traveling to South Florida, you have to eat where locals eat, and local folks know where to find one of the best Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines. Subres Grill is a relatively new restaurant which opened in December 2012, and owned by a warm Israeli couple, Eli and EttyWeinberg. This small quaint place has become a favorite with locals and tourists alike, with five-star reviews from grateful customers on Yelp, and other websites to attest to it. The restaurant is located in the middle of a vibrant Jewish neighborhood in North Miami, a few blocks to the west from Biscayne Blvd. The décor is simple and contemporary, in black and white hues with addition of some purple and stainless steel, and features bar seating in addition to tables. Diners who walk in once, keep returning for the delicious fresh food, great service and friendly atmosphere.  The owner Eli shares that the key to the restaurant’s success is their love for what they do, combined with exceptional quality ingredients, and his wife’s rare cooking talent.

At Subres Grill, the food is always fresh and made from scratch - no falafel or soup mixes - which results in a perfect

combination of taste and texture. The menu features a range of classic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean specialties enhanced by Etty’s culinary creativity. The owner, however, usually finds it difficult to recommend one particular dish to his new customers - instead Eli promises they are going to enjoy whatever they select, and encourages them to try something else next time.  Their Vegetarian Platter, a selection of 9 Israeli-style salads with a dollop of hummus, is an especially popular appetizer with the diners. Steak Teriyaki or Chicken Teriyaki, grilled and sautéed with peppers and onions in a sweet soy sauce marinade is a great choice for an entrée, as are their mouthwatering kebabs, burgers, fajitas and shawarma, which is made to order like everything else without the use a turning shawarma machine. The desserts are all homemade and include such finger-licking delicacies as strudel, baklava, and chocolate soufflé served with ice cream. Subres Grill also specializes in Shabbat takeout   dinners (to be ordered 48 hours in advance), and caters any special events.
