On Central Avenue, lined with businesses, there is one storefront which opened in August 2012 by the name of Waffelino. Behind that door you will find one of the most unique kosher experiences. Run as a family business, by Mikael, Marcel and Maurice Kavian, with the belief that you need to be unique to stand out, the restaurant is the first and only kosher waffle bar on the East Coast of the United States. As you enter this brightly lit place with modern décor in light green and brown hues, you feel its warm and relaxing atmosphere. So take a seat at a comfortable leather chair and explore their inventive menu.
The name Waffelino suggests you will find waffles on the menu, but in fact, the owners went far beyond the original waffle. They have over 10 waffle flavors, including such unique creations as Amarettolino (almond flavor waffle), Redvelvetino (red velvet waffle), and Farinolino (oatmeal waffle). All their homemade waffles are low sugar, made with egg-white batter, without any oil, butter or margarine, thus being 100% fat free, yet super tasty -
so you can indulge without any guilty feelings. Innovative as they are, in addition to waffles they have created some unusual waffle-based ideas. Pizzalino is a waffle-shaped pizza, and Paninilino is a waffle-shaped Panini, both made out of their homemade bread-tasting batter, and coming in several varieties: Guacamole, Mushroom, Greek, and more. They are always looking for unique ideas with the latest creation being Burgerlino (veggie burger).

All plates are custom-made to the diners preference, and they also serve a nice selection of specialty coffee beverages to accompany their waffle creations. In case you’re not in a waffle mood, you can still order pasta, soup, omelet, or make your own salad. And how can you leave such a place without a dessert? They make excellent Cakelino and Icecakelino- you guessed right: waffle-based cakes.
All that being said, the most astonishing thing about Waffelino’s menu is that it is completely parve. Everything including “cheese”, ice cream, and milk on the menu is parve, so go ahead and order a Cakelino for a perfect Shabbat dessert. Top that with outdoor seating in the summer, and the place sounds just wonderfulino.

waffelino They had a large selection of waffles so many flavors to have. I had the chocolate chip and my friend had a plain one both equally yummy. You could top them with fruit, cookies, chips, cereals, sprinkles, syrups . Naturally they had a very large selection of both parve and dairy syrups to choose from which is really good if you just had meet that some are parve. The waffles were large and they came out excellent. They were really surprise hoe good they tasted . The place was clean with lots of seating. We were really enjoyed we will be back soon
