Restaurant reviewers describe The Chicken Nest as “the staple of the Toronto Jewish Community.” Since 1993, The Chicken Nest, located at Bathurst and Lawrence, allows you to sit back, and enjoy chicken and ribs done the old-fashioned way in a family-style setting. Accommodating up to 70 guests at his restaurant, owner and head chef Carlo prepares and serves each dish using his years of experience at top-rated five star hotels. Many of the dishes on The Chicken Nest menu are inspired by Carlo’s father, also a chef with Sephardic Jewish influences.
They are the first restaurant to offer the kosher version of a Swiss Chalet chicken, down to the same shaped bun. This BBQ rotisserie lets you enjoy a moist, tender chicken with a special chicken marinade mix, similar in taste to the special at Canada's most famous restaurant chain. Specials of the day are constantly changing like the most popular Country-style Meat Loaf served with mashed potatoes. For something flavorful, try the Chicken Florentine, stuffed with mushrooms and spinach in an orange sauce or the Spicy Thai Chicken with Chinese Shanghai Noodles. Highly recommended is the Chicken Shish Kebab served on a bed of rice along with the Mixed Middle Eastern Platters. What may be a surprise is that it’s not all chicken at The Chicken Nest. The sandwich bar offers wraps (vegetarian too), beef burgers and much more. The Half Rack Barbecued Beef Ribs is a signature dish that is served with French fries, baked potato, or rice pilaf.
