ABOUT Cafe Paris on 16th

Since 1996, owner Rikki S. has brought the historical Jewish-Parisian culinary influence and modernized it into Brooklyn’s exquisite Café Paris on 16th. The large scale renovations takes you to today’s Paris, decorated with warm brown tones, hanging lights, violet flowers on the white tablecloth and an elegant portrait of the Eiffel Tower. The presentation of their gourmet vegetarian food including a Tower of Fries is also thanks to their experienced Israeli Chef Shloimy Abramov.  In fact, very often, you will see customers snapping photos for Instagram before they even start their meals.
What makes Café Paris on 16th special is that they cater to the needs of health conscious diners who enjoy superb food minus the carbs and calories. Therefore, the ingredients in all dishes prepared use minimal oil and no sugar. The dairy café has expanded in recent years to a large restaurant serving a fine dining menu with hot soups, healthy salads, omelets, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, personal pizzas, and vegetarian specialties. Exciting appetizers include Fried Spicy Zucchini Sticks or the tender bits of Cauliflower topped with chimchuri sauce and tehina. Fish lovers get a real treat when it comes to their salmon dishes, as you can have it grilled with the chef’s famous sauce or baked in a delicious rosemary marinade, accompanied with your choice of salad, brown rice, quinoa, baked/sweet potato. For the vegetarian entrees, you can choose from six different quiches and soufflés including the most popular, Mix Vegetable, Cauliflower and Zucchini, all served with a Garden Salad. Another addition to their expansive menu, are the specialty sushi rolls like the Pink Lady (spicy tuna, crunch, mango, and tuna on top). Enjoy the delicious desserts from the Chocolate Volcano with Vanilla Ice Cream to their most requested: Paris Delight (sweet pastry with a cream filling, topped with hot sweet syrup).

Today I had quite the gastronomic adventure. While on my way to a challenge clue, from the Great Kosher Restaurant Scaventer Hunt in Boro Park, I decided to stop at Cafe Paris on 16th avenue in Boro Park. I went in just to take a picture with the takeout menu and potentially an owner, manager or chef. What a sweetheart the owner was. She asked me about the challenge and invited me to eat something. She brought me a spinach soufle with a side salad. It was quite good! I definitely look forward to tasting more the next time I am in Boro Park! Next time, I'll even pay!
