LATEST UPDATE: Mumbai Grill is now open for business!
UPDATE: MUMBAI GRILL IN GREAT NECK OPENING END OF SEPTEMBER
We first broke the news in July about a glatt kosher Indian restaurant opening in Great Neck. And we're excited to announce a tentative grand opening in early October! Vacheron Constantin Swiss Replica Watches
Mumbai Grill, as it will be called, will truly be one of a kind - as it will be the only Glatt kosher Indian restaurant in the country (past Indian restaurants like Shalom Bombay and Thai Treat have closed).
Mumbai Grill owners Malik Husain and Andy Perlaza hired the best chefs to create authentic Indian cuisine, even using some spices unavailable in the US and shipped straight from India. Husain, born in New Delhi is the son of a successful Queens restauranteur. Perlaza, born in Ecuador, worked in fast food restaurants before they teamed up with a plan to launch their own Indian eatery - and luckily for us, it's a kosher one! But, the owners told Catherine Teeban of The Island Now, they expect lots of business. The restaurant space is modest in size, with seating with 40 diners. To keep up with the demand they expect to offer takeout and delivery.
Mumbai Grill will have a bar, featuring signature Indian alcoholic drinks that will complement the authentic flavors from the kitchen's two Tandoor ovens. The restaurant is located at 178 Middle Neck Rd, next door to Bagel Mentch.
