The Harel brothers opened a third location for their popular Chocolatte cafe - this one between Crown Heights and Prospect Heights with a special breakfast menu and in walking distance from museums and the zoo. Located at: 800 Franklin Ave Brooklyn, NY. Open 7am-5pm. Click here to read more!
The owners of the very popular falafel and Middle Eastern restaurant in Brooklyn are keeping their doors open but are looking to sell. As you can imagine, owning and operating a restaurant takes a huge amount of time and effort and the owners are working on more ventures and feel now is the right time to sell it. For details on the space, click here.
Day 5 Sushi New and Improved!
The veteran and popular sushi restaurant on Coney Island Avenue and N has had quite the year. They were sold by the original owners who live in Monsey to Yossi Meirov (who actually found out about the sale on our FB group) back in February. The restaurant was "rolling" along until May when an unexpected fire next door unfortunately knocked the store out of commission until August. Welcome to the biz Yossi. But they are back and stronger than ever with a special deal - Offering 20% off from 5pm to closing on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Located at: 1724 Coney Island Ave Brooklyn, NY (718) 513-6662. Click here to read our post about it!
Garden of Eat in Brooklyn is having a liquidation sale.
As we mentioned in our last newsletter, the Avenue J dairy diner closed after 30 years. They have been looking for a buyer but are now doing a liquidation sale where no decent offer will be refused. Please contact the owner Chaim directly at 917-376-6252.
Fire damages Mikes Burgers, Josh's Brooklyn Brick Oven and Ice Cream shop on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst
Very sad news to all the establishments involved. This is especially cruel punishment for Mike's Burgers, which is the second fire in a second location, a couple of years apart. Reports are that the fire did not start at Mike's, so please do not spread rumors or jokes. Luckily no one was hurt, but very scary stuff. We hope they are able to recover and come back stronger. Click here to view or post about it.
One thing that came out of this tragedy is shedding more light on the "Wash for Josh" movement. The owner of Josh's Brick Oven was diagnosed with some terrible news earlier in the year and so a campaign was started, Wash for Josh, where we should all have Josh in our prayers and in our blessings for a full and speedy recovery. Click here to read more from my nephew who made a very moving post last Friday.

One of our members Melody Zar Aziz posted saying:
"Hi everyone! I have a nonprofit Fountain of Kindness where we spread kindness to people going through any type of hardship. Early this morning, a lady reached out to me informing me she was diagnosed with cancer last week and asked if we can help with meals for the family. I began making calls to restaurants to place the orders for this week and as I finished the order at La Pizzeria in Great Neck, the owner told me that everything was on him and he will have the order delivered today. AMAZING!!"
