After three decades in operation, The Great American Health Bar in New York City, will now be a Shomer Shabbat restaurant and bli neder, starting next week will be under the OK Supervision.That's right, it's 99% official, as the OK is scheduled to kasher the kitchen this coming Saturday night, and hopefully the following day they will be under the OK. GAHB is owned by the same people who own Cafe Classico up the stairs, which has always been closed on Shabbos and under the OK.

While the dairy, health-oriented restaurant downstairs has been a fixture in midtown for years, frequented by celebrities and business customers, there has always been a hesitation by many to not eat there based on their previous supervisions.The truth is, I have been talking to them for years about making the change and in fact, I posted something on the group over a year ago asking if people would prefer it, and it got an extremely positive reaction.Perhaps that helped convince them. Hopefully this will be a game changer and the right decision for them business wise. I applaud them for finally taking this step and let's support them with our patronage.
