Three months after winning approval from the board to turn 357-369 Grand Street (the former home of Shalom Chai Pizza) into a full-service kosher cafe; local businessman Nathan Sklar is now seeking a full liquor license and is negotiating other lease details. We have learned from "The Lo-Down" that the 25 seat restaurant, with an outdoor space, will have an extensive menu that includes organic eggs prepared any way you like them, a salad bar, a sandwich bar with smoked fish, veggie bacon tomato and cheese skewers and several fresh fish entrees (including salmon, tuna and dorado).
For an interesting inside look, click here for their Liquor License Application Questionnaire, which includes a pretty detailed menu preview starting on page 6.
We will keep you updated as we learn more about the kosher cafe opening.
