UPDATE: We first reported about this restaurant change in October but we have just learned that "Rimon" is trying to open by next week See below for all the Roger Dubuis Replica details.
(October 2014) We love to report news like this - which just came in! Sip City Bar and
Restaurant in Great Neck, NY will be changing to a kosher menu and switching its name to Rimon. The bar is waiting for approval from the Village of Great Neck Plaza Board of Trustees. The owners of the restaurant have been prompted to make this big change since most customers are only coming in for drinks and not for the food. "Right now, it's not providing the type of income that's necessary," said Loren Welfar, a business partner at the restaurant. "The makeup of the neighborhood is changing. The restaurant is on its last legs" and is struggling financially and the owners hope the new kosher menu and bar will help boost the amount of customers coming in to eat and drink.
Rimon is located at 16 Middle Neck Road in Great Neck, right near the Long Island Railroad Greak Neck Station.
And will be under the supervision of the Vaad of Queens.
