MANHATTAN
To answer a very popular question of what is the source for the name of this restaurant - it is actually named after the 1938 movie, Jezebel, starring Bette Davis. In fact, the restaurant pays homage to the classics, with an ode to many famous paintings...with a slightly Jewish twist of course. For my photos and impression of my dinner last week at Jezebel, check out our Facebook page

PHILADELPHIA
Citron and Rose (coming this September)
368 Montgomery Avenue, Lower Merion, PA 19004
The city of brotherly love lost a terrific glatt kosher restaurant a couple of months ago in Max & David's
, but Philly residents shouldn't be down as a celebrity chef (he has been featured on ABC Nightline's Plate List series) Michael Solomonov is set to open a glatt kosher European restaurant at the end of the summer, called Citron and Rose in Merion, on the Main Line. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen with a chef's counter, a comfortable dining room for up to 60 guests and a marble topped bar where guests can enjoy the all-kosher cocktail, wine and beer list. There will also be anoutdoor patio. Solomonov said that cured meats and sausages are good examples of what they will serve at C+R, as well as goose and chicken fats. In addition, Citron and Rose Catering will be a full-service catering company for
on- and off-site events. To schedule an appointment with Citron and Rose Catering, email: events@citronandrose.com

TORONTO
Marky's has closed
After 4 decades, Erez Karp, the restaurant's most recent owner, has decided to close this institutional establishment. Toronto has seen the number of top quality kosher restaurants drastically decline in the last few years.
