ABOUT Bibi's Bakery & Cafe

Located in the heart of the “kosher corridor” in LA on Pico Blvd is Bibi’s Bakery & Café owned by “dan the man”, Dan Messinger. The bakery has many family elements such as passionate repeat customers, family recipes, and Dan’s family that may be the ones taking your order.

This is more than just a bakery. Bibi’s is Chalav Yisrael and Pat Yisrael, serving fresh authentic middle eastern specialties since 2002 with new management since 2011, Bibi’s strives to provide the freshest food with courteous and speedy service. Homemade breads, sandwiches, salads and snacks perfect for a quick bite or a full meal. For a taste of Israel, Bibi’s will satisfy your cravings with burrekas, sambusack, Jerusalem bagels otherwise known as ka’ak, pita toastes, frosty “ice-caffe” and Israeli brands filling their beverage case rivaling any makolet (market) in Israel. A must try is the Rocky Mountain Pita which is sesame pita, topped with eggs, tomato and cheese or can be served with other vegetables as well in a 500-degree warm stone creating a crispy hearty unique crust, nuttiness from sesame, richness of eggs and cheese. This is a hidden gem for pizza as well.

A great surprise is that they start early and close with late night hours! They cater as well including platters, breads, and pastries. With family deals of pizza and salad on top of their already reasonable prices, Bibi’s is a great place to add to the list. On Fridays there’s often a line out the door with things selling out by 1 pm so be sure to get out early for Shabbos preparations. Bibi’s also does take orders in advance so if you can’t get there early, you can still get all your favorites.

This local business has earned customers’ loyalty and accolades, including being named to a list of “Best Shakshukas in L.A.” on Yelp, and “15 Soulful Shakshukas to Try Around Los Angeles” by Eater L.A. And for Messinger, being part of a Pico-Robertson business has really “broadened my picture of the Jewish community in L.A.”
