Celebrate with Kosher Cajun this year as it reaches its milestone of serving the needs of the Jewish community for 30 years as the one-stop kosher food establishment in the South.
It all started back in 1987, when owner Joel Brown began bringing kosher food to the area. The restaurant, deli and grocery has a mashgiach temidi and offers local residents large portions at family-friendly prices as well as imported kosher products from Israel.
There's no place in town more like a New York deli than this awesome Metairie nosh shop serving traditional Jewish cuisine from matzo ball soup to corned beef on rye with Dr. Brown's cream soda.
You will love their New Orleans favorites: Fried “kosher shrimp” po-boy, chicken and sausage gumbo or jambalaya and red beans and Rice. Deli by the pound and domestic and imported kosher wines (in their extensive wine section) and a Judaica Gift Shop enhance the offerings of this family-operated eatery.
This upscale market has a variety of over 1,000 kosher items with everything you need for a mid-week stay or Shabbat meal including New York baked challahs, rolls and salads as well as, party platters for all of your catering needs. select portions of finely marbled and cured corned beef, pastrami and tongue; the best cuts of beef and oven roasted, smoked or mexican turkey, delicious salami, bologna and, of course, chopped liver. Homemade coleslaw and fresh potato salad, make the perfect additions to their mouthwatering deli.

Of special note: Joel Brown, the owner recognized the needs and desires of tourists and business travellers to have the option of ordering their meals on China sent to any restaurant in the city so he created the option of “One Way China”. This allows people to have a gourmet meal on real plates with silverware that is delivered by Kosher Cajun but never comes back to the restaurant in order to ensure the highest standards of Kashrut observance. Kosher Cajun prepares “Kosher Meals on China” for The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
To top it off, are the Shabbat specials of delicious rotisserie or southern fried chicken or kosher sushi, all fresh and made to order and avaiilable every Friday!!!
