Pizza World was established in August 1991 when the Melamed family took over L.A's first kosher pizza place. Back then, life was a little different. They bought groceries from people they knew on a first-name basis and knew all of their customers by name.
Owner,
Darren Melamed, is a native Angelino, locally educated at Hillel, YULA, and CSUN. He began his restaurant career at this very site under the auspices of Howard Weiss of Kosher Nostra.
Today, they still believe in giving you the best. Because of this, they pride themselves on having fresh ingredients every day. They like to think of their food as family comfort food, the kind you'd eat if you were cooking. And they still try to know all of their customers on a first name basis. They are well known as serving up some of the best kosher Italian and Mexican food around. They also offer many fish and vegan options. Choices include sandwiches, wraps, burritos, tacos, salads, fajitas, chimichangas, and pizza. Their Impossible Burger features vegan cheese and offers soy-based meats and vegetables for the vegan orders. Gluten-free crust and pasta also available all in a nut free environment. They accept orders for party trays too.
