South Florida now boasts a fine meat restaurant with a French flare since Kosh opened its doors in February 2013 to the delight of vacationers and local residents. The restaurant is led by owner Abraham Getzel and his wife Sandra.
The location is just two blocks away from the beautiful Surfside beach, and steps away from many apartments, condos and hotels, making it a great destination for that leisurely yet upscale dinner. It’s also only a short walking distance from the famous Bal Harbour Shul and Young Israel of Bal Harbour, which comes in handy if you want to organize a private event for one of the Shabbat meals. The décor of Kosh is elegant contemporary with elements of art nouveau style: modern hanging lighting fixtures live in perfect harmony with more traditional chandeliers, as do mirrors and stylish photographs on the walls. Dark purple and grey color scheme with velvet chairs, soft purple light, and flowers on the tables adds to the atmosphere of regal luxury. Alternatively, you can sit at one of their outdoor tables to dine in that evening breeze.
The menu is that of a French brasserie with a selection of traditional and signature French bistro dishes, with the addition of tapas appetizers, Asian specialties and full sushi bar. One of their highly recommended appetizers is their steak tartar - prime minced raw beef mixed with a tangy spiced sauce, finished with capers, egg yolk, shallots and cornichons, and accompanied with French fries and baguette. For the main course go for one of their grilled to perfection 21-day wet aged steaks, or one of their signature entrees, such as duck confit, served with sautéed garlic, roasted potatoes and petite salad. Kosh has a fully – stocked beverage bar serving some creative specialty drinks, such as lychee martini with dry sake. No French-inspired restaurant should be left without a dessert, and Kosh offers some appealing choices. Try their fondant au chocolat – a lava cake with parve vanilla ice cream -for a sweet memorable ending of your chic meal. Kosh is also an excellent choice for any event catering, whether off premise or a private party inside the restaurant.

This place is fantastic, but always booked so book many DAYS in advance! We booked but didn't realize that the system automatically booked us for the earliest available day which was days later so when we got there they still found us a table even though we didn't have a reservation and they were booked solid with not a seat available. Much appreciated and amazing food with quick service!!
