ABOUT Cafe Renaissance
Hugely popular and spacious, Cafe Renaissance offers delectable Italian dishes and one of the best assortment of gourmet pizzas you will ever try- it’s made the way pizza was originally made and supposed to taste.  With three different pasta sauces, pizza dough made from four different kinds of flour and various cheeses, the restaurant is keeping the food as Italian as possible.

An emphasis on excellence is instilled by owners Shaul and Tikva Ashkenazi.  They started in this business 33 years ago with a restaurant in Israel and it was the quality of the food that made them successful.  When they moved to America over 20 years ago, Shaul was in the clothing business.  His true love and aspiration, however, was to open a restaurant here. So in June 2001, they began another adventure that their customers have been enjoying ever since. This cafe has been a hit with families, friends, dates and, it seems, everyone else.  Some recommendations for starters are the Mozzarella Basket and Renaissance Bruschetta.  The Penne a la Vodka is quite different here because the chef makes the vodka sauce himself.  The Chilean Sea Bass is fantastic as is their famous L & B Style Pizza, with the sauce on top. They have a separate sushi menu with all your favorites and all the desserts are made on premises. An absolute must is their oozing hot chocolate souffle with cold ice cream.

Shaul and Tikvah, who are constantly going in and out of the kitchen making sure everything is perfect and up to their standards, are also on the floor welcoming their guests.  It is that dedication and care that leads Cafe Renaissance, whether in the afternoon or late at night, to be the center of attraction.  But, ultimately, it’s the quality of the food that draws its clientele for repeated visits.

Cafe Renaissance

My class had a get together (reunion) in Cafe Renaissance a few years ago. This fine restaurant, located on Kings HIghway near East 8th Street, was chosen because of it's delicious and elegant dining. We were given a nice, roomy area for our class. Things were clean and well presented. The food was delicious. There were so many options to choose from. All the appetizers, salads and mains that we tried were enjoyed. We had Tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The prices might be slightly higher than some other cafes, but it is probably because of this is not JUST a place to eat out. It's a place to dine out in style.

The last time that I had the pleasure of visiting Cafe Renaissance was this past September for my neighbor's birthday. Care Renaissance is located on Kings Highway in Brooklyn. It is a beautiful setting with a variety of dairy and pareve food options. They have a plentiful sushi menu, assorted fish dishes, soups, pastas, salads and scrumptious desserts. My personal favorites is the Haloumi Salad. Everything my guest and I ordered was delicious, the servings were plentiful and the price was reasonable. I look forward to my next visit. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a business meeting or gathering of friends.

I like the food and wanted to order ut the delivery guy already left.. I asked them to send it in a cab and they said call the cab. I expect better service even though it is 11;45 Saturday night only since I have ordered at this time of night many times and had quick service... bummer Moms withs kids sleeping should stil get good food, now I'm stuck with the regular pizza restaurant instead of gourmet pizza ;( I 'll deal, I guess.... From, spolied Renaissance customer

Well, I didn't like the way the manager made us wait but the food was ok. Probably he was too scared to let us sit 'cause the restaurant was so full ... anyway I might visit the restaurant sometime

Cafe Renaissance WHAT DO YOU THINK???
Yael Freedman- 12/01/06
Well, I was today at Cafe Renaissance and we order an L&B style pizza it was amazing...but the appetizer (Portobello Marsalla) was too spicy for me and when I tried to tell the manager about it he said that that's the way they make it there, weird . I think he should've given us something else instead...
