In the place was formerly occupied by Beast BBQ and re-opened with a new chef, expanded menu, larger storefront, and a transition to counter-service is owners’ Zach and Raizy Levine’s new family restaurant, 306 Southern BBQ. The decor was almost the same as previously with Beast - a Southern-style country rustic feel that evokes an authentic barbeque ambience. With additional seating installed outside, they’re ready to handle the crowds!
Chef Izzy Weiss is authentic and audacious and to create the perfect Texas-true menu, he redeveloped every recipe for the kosher consumer. Part of that process entails his control of the entire supply chain of ingredients. Working closely with cattle and vegetable farms, he takes his meats to a new level of deliciousness. Starting with the finest and most tender sides of beef available, they take the long route - 18 hours of smoking their meat with real hickory wood; the slow, gentle reduction of their signature sauces; and the selection and preparation of their sides.
The menu aims for Southwestern and Texan authenticity. With a broader variety than Beast, serving wings, poppers, fried chicken, burgers, Tex-Mex, ribs and of course a selection of carved meats like pastrami, brisket and pulled beef, everything Chef Izzy makes has customers clamoring for more. Featuring a kid’s meal and Thursday night cholent specials and delectable desserts and with the kosher certification of the CRC in addition to the OU, 306 Southern BBQ is the perfect place in Monsey for signature meats and barbeque classics with a side of southern hospitality.
