ABOUT Falafalafa

Falafalafa is Marine Park’s falafel joint, or “falafel bistro” as they like to call themselves. The fun name matches the fun vibes, and the place is reminiscent of the family friendly neighborhood falafel shops found on every street in Israel. Owned by Shlomi Lavi, it is a convenient addition to the foodie scene, located on the busy intersection of Avenue U and Gerritsen Avenue, just steps from the famous park.

The falafel balls themselves are fried fresh behind the counter, boasting that vibrant green cilantro color that many have come to associate with the authentic Israeli deal. Many customers claim that these are the best falafel balls found outside of Israel, and are thrilled that Falafalafa sells their homemade falafel mix by the container – secret recipe not included. Falafalafa’s vibrant menu includes Shakshuka, Hummus and Falafel plates, and Sabich, and Israeli sandwich loaded with fried eggplant, hard boiled egg, hummus, tehina and assorted salads. All their salatim are made fresh, and they have a wide variety of options including Israeli Salad, Cabbage Salad, Chickpeas, Roasted Jalapeno and more. They hope to expand to a Newark location as well.

Falafalafa has both parking spots and enough outdoor seating to accommodate at least 20 people. For those not interested in outdoor dining there are a few bar stools in the restaurant. Open from 10:30am – 12:00am, and offering delivery through UberEats, Falafalafa has primed itself to be the go-to for all late night falafel fixes.
