Opened in 2008 and named after one of the most beautiful birds in the Brazilian landscape, the parrot, Papagaio is well known for its unique Brazilian grill. Each meat is prepared and served on giant skewers and carved at your tableside according to old Brazilian tradition. With its large plasma screens, open-flame grill and waiting staff bustling from table to table, you become engrossed in the action, creating a special dining experience. The owner’s philosophy is to provide superior customer service in all aspects of what they do. They wanted to create a special concept and provide a memorable experience for those who come to dine.
So for a meal that is truly uplifting for the whole table as well as the best of Brazilian cuisine, if you choose the fixed price dinner, they start you off with an appetizer of “Salada de Casa” served with oven-baked bread and continue with Papagaio quality meats. Each guest receives repeated servings of all types of meat: entrecote, spit roasted chicken, chicken liver, kebab, entrecote in a beer marinade, spring chicken costella and thin-fib. It is truly a remarkable feast, with each meat offering a different flavor and taste. For those that are interested in one or two types of meat, they also offer a large a la carte menu.
But from whichever menu you order from, make sure to leave room for any of their fantastic homemade desserts, especially the “Mousse trio” of layers of chocolate brownie, fudge mousse and chocolate mousse. The restaurant also boasts terrific house cocktails and drink list, including Vitamina, Batida, Caiirinha and frozen Margarita. A special whisky and beer list is also available.
Papagaio hosts events both at lunchtime and in the evening in their private VIP room, which can hold up to 35 guests. For larger parties, the dining room can be rented out to accommodate up to 130 guests. And to satisfy demand, Papagaio now offers a new stylish and chic outside catering service for up to 2000 guests for weddings, bar mitzvahs or any special occasion you may have.
