Daniel Kohn, the grandson of the founder of Quality Kosher Catering, is impressing the young Jewish community of Detroit with updated and creative Kosher food.
Kohn is overseeing the company's restaurant/take out spot in Oak Park, Kravings. It's located at 25270 Greenfield Road and has a dining room that seats about 25. It has a grill, sushi bar and a fully certified Kosher kitchen turning out traditional and contemporary Kosher meals.
Kohn says it's clearer than ever that the demand for more modern kosher food is high. Their clients loved their food and started calling to make smaller orders. That's when Daniel decided to open up a deli cafe that is now known as Kravings.
The vibe at Kravings is hip and fun, the decor matches that with its modern light fixtures and bar stool sushi bar set up.
Their menu is eclectic featuring plenty 'out of the box' dishes, such as the Philly Steak Sandwich and the BLT. At the same time, Kravings wants to keep the traditionalists happy by serving Kosher staples like the Reuben sandwich and BBQ pulled beef. However the go to sandwich that is the most popular is there Chazal Burger of Housemade Bacon, Fried Onions, Tomato, Ranch, and Spicy Mayo. You will thank us.
