Watercolor décor combined with a mouth-watering menu distinguishes Fresko from all the rest. This gourmet dairy restaurant opened in 2011, and is named for the Spanish word for "fresh" - and its K also stands for Kosher. The neon-lit space has sharp, modern Italian furnishings by the Agsia Group, and daring dairy cuisine perfected by owner Abraham Getzel. Originally from Venezuela, he sought to amaze diners with a surprising fusion of his homeland’s exotic fare with American-kosher flair.
Those South American influences are reflected in signatures dishes such as the Salmon Ceviche - marinated in lime juice, with a side of chili and guacamole and tortilla chips. For a middle ground between the exotic and familiar, there’s the Three Mushrooms Pizza with thin crust, a cream-based mushroom mix, and white truffle oil. And we can't forget pastas and rice! Rissoto Fruto di Mare is a delicious Arborio rice, salmon, and mock seafood dish; the Gnocchi Creme Pesto features creamy pesto with sun-dried tomatoes, and is topped with goat cheese and toasted almonds.
Fresko delivers breakfast to nearby hotels but lunch here is a must for travelers, and an indulgence for locals: soups, wraps, pasta salads, pita with homemade veggie burgers, and your choice of fresh, rainbow yoghurt-based smoothies. Go classic with strawberry-banana, taste the tropics with passion-mango, or go Mediterranean with the Date Blast's date-banana combo.
