It’s a point to meet people and a point to eat meat, and that’s the point. Yehuda Alali felt that the kosher community in Dallas, and those coming to Dallas from out of town for business, didn’t have an excellent kosher place to meet, so in 2014, Meat Point was born. It’s a high-end steakhouse that brings Israeli American cuisine to the people of Dallas.
Yehuda is from Tzfat, and you can feel that when you walk into Meat Point. It’s a taste of Tzfat with a mix of contemporary and modern décor. Diners are surrounded by wood and maroon, with pictures of cows and Tzfat on the walls. There is plant life and greenery, as well as overhead lighting.
The menu is Israeli cuisine during lunchtime, featuring sandwiches, hummus dishes, kebabs, salads, and other Mediterranean fares. Once dinner hits, the restaurant becomes an entirely different animal, and that animal is steak. From cowboy and rib-eye to tomahawk, not to mention lamb rack and veal ala moelle, Meat Point has the meat covered. The burgers come in spicy, smokey, and even in something called a heart attack, which is a 12 oz. Angus burger topped with a 4 oz. lamb and rib-eye fat patty, grilled with a sunny side up egg, served with a side salad of tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and onions. There’s also chicken, pasta, and fish.

Meat Point carries the largest selection of kosher wines in Dallas, with over 100 different types and close to 1000 bottles in their full bar. They provide mixed beverages and a cocktail menu, including classics such as gin rickeys, martinis, mojitos, and cosmopolitans. Free chasers are available Thursday night when Meat Point transforms into a musical hotspot with a live DJ.
On Fridays, Meat Point has a special Shabbos menu and hosts a pre-Shabbos Kabbalat Shabbat where people can come and chill with cocktails and music before the holiday starts. Food is also available to take home. Private rooms also seat up to 60 for the events Meat Point hosts. Meat Point caters for events off-premises and offers delivery via Grubhub. Also, if a hotel in Dallas has kosher guests, they likely outsource the food from Meat Point.
So, what’s the point? The point is meat, and meat and meeting is the point at Meat Point. Meet you there.
