Frequent visitors to Panama are familiar with La Spezia, and for good reason. Opened in 2021 by Moises Antebi, the restaurant entered the kosher dining scene with the clear vision to offer an elevated Italian experience grounded in tradition. La Spezia emphasizes handcrafted pasta, long-fermented pizza doughs, and a thoughtful approach to cooking that aims to deliver a refined meal without losing its Italian roots.

The name for the restaurant comes as an homage to the Italian coastal city, a symbol to the craftsmanship and simplicity that is rooted in Italian tradition. That tradition follows into Moises' philosophy in running La Spezia.

Keeping on theme, the decor inside (and in their outdoor dining area) refines the contemporary Italian design with an intimate touch. The Italian accents welcome everyone to come and experience their well thought out menu.

Speaking of the menu, it is filled to the brim with the aforementioned handmade fresh pastas and fermented pizzas, as well as fish that still exemplify the Italian tradition. To start the meal, diners will often go with the Arancini - an Italian classic that has stood the test of time - and the Tuna Squares.

Signature dishes like the Caracoli a la Florentina and their Hand Made Gnocchi show off the fresh and handmade pasta, while the Tres Queso's (Three Cheese) pizza is the epitome of Italian pizza. The Toscana Sea Bass and the Al Carcciofi Tuna Steak are also favorites.

When you go to La Spezia, the Italian experience isn't the only thing on the menu. As has become the norm in these times, sushi is also prevalent. From the classic California roll, to something a little more inventive in the Crispy Corvina roll, dairy and fish lovers have a place here.

To round out the dining experience, an espresso and beverage bar is front and center. Of course, a nice coffee/espresso makes a nice accompaniment, but so to does a delicious cocktail or glass of wine. Both are readily available and both are encouraged additions.
