About Fonda Mi Reinita
Reina Bitton noticed a lack of kosher, authentic Panamanian food in Panama. So in 2020 she decided it was time to change that, and introduced Fonda Mi Reinita to the community. The name, implying and meaning "Panamanian Home Food", brings a flavor that the Kosher world hadn't experienced at that point.
Fonda has established itself since its opening as the Kosher option for the people looking to travel the island, specifically tourists. Their takeout and catering business style aids itself to the travelers, giving you the option to freely go on all the trips your heart desires, regardless of timing and food availability. All you have to do is pick up the food from their location inside the Beth El Shul.
For takeout, their options are not just tasty, but they are affordable. They have soups served with white rice like Chicken Soup, Lentil Soup, and even Lemon Soup. They also have special sandwiches like a Club Sandwich (cold cuts, egg fried, and BBQ sauce) or a Chicken Shawarma.
If you aren't feeling those options, they also have a section just for burgers, including the Temptation Burger, served with Tomato and Pickles.
The options don't end there. Sometimes, when you are on the move, you don't want a sandwich, you want something you can snack on. That's where some of the appetizers and from the grill options come in. Pastrami Muarras (like Bourekas) and the chicken/meat empanadas are great quick and easy options that are easy to transport, as are the Breaded Chicken Fingers and Grilled Chicken Wings.
We would be remiss to not mention their catering options, specifically when it comes to Shabbos. Tourists to Panama can have a home cooked Panamanian Shabbos meal delivered right to their Airbnb or hotel room. With a large amount of chicken, meat, soup, salads, dips, and more options to count, your Shabbos in Panama will feel just like home.
