About Art of Prime
Located on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, Art of Prime opened at the end of April 2025 offering a tightly curated take on kosher steakhouse dining. The restaurant positions itself with a focus on classic food and restaurant principles, by serving food with the freshest ingredients, premium level service, and a modern but still upscale aesthetic.
The interior leans toward understated elegance: dim lighting and muted tones. It’s a space designed more for measured conversation than being flashy. This approach mirrors the menu—structured and deliberate, not over complicated.
Starters like the crispy eggplant salad and tabbouleh demonstrate pop out with a balance of texture and acidity, while the mezze platter, consisting of a spread of hummus, baba ganoush (two ways), roasted red pepper, and olives, anchors the Middle Eastern influence without overextending.
Steak is, of course, central. Cuts are prepared precisely, and the restaurant avoids over-complication to the point of losing the plot. The other mains also standout, like the braised beef tongue, a dish that could easily veer into either nostalgia or novelty but instead lands somewhere more purposeful. It is elevated by a mustard finish and olive crumble that add structure and clarity. And their piece de resistance, Beef Wellington, tender beef wrapped in golden puff pastry with spinach and mushroom duxelles, finished with a rich demi glace. This dish is not typical for a kosher steakhouse but Art of Grill has mastered this upscale dish and made it available for the kosher consumer.
Art of Prime is certified by Rabbi Yechiel Babad (Tartikover)
