About Mi Cafe
The Mi Cafe journey starts with Moishy Goldberg, and his start as a baker in Israel at H&M Baked Goods. Following his work there, he went to Montreal to open a bakery. Then to the United States where he took his baking experiences and opened the catering business of Main Ingredient, followed by the introduction of Mi Cafe in Passaic, NJ.
First opening in February of 2025, Mi Cafe comes to you from the Goldbergs. They want the family run business to feel like a calm and relaxing environment. So the restaurant is set up that way. Soft wood, calming blue colors surround, with soft jazz music playing in the background.
The idea to open the restaurant is simply because there were none of its kind in Passaic up until that point. They just needed a name, and the name Mi Cafe comes from two points. First, is part of the Moishy Goldberg origin story with Main Ingredient. Second, relates to the philosophy of the restaurant. The word “Mi” in Spanish means “my”, making the restaurant “My Cafe”.
The menu is filled with its fair share of best selling dishes. Starting with their appetizers, their Crispy Cauliflower served with Sweet Chili sauce has people raving. So do their Bistro Nachos, topped with Cheddar Cheese, homemade Guacamole, Pico de Gallo, Black Olives, and Jalapenos. Then there are the Salmon Tacos, where the crispy outer shell mingles into the soft Salmon and Pico de Gallo center in just the right way.
For the entree, Mi Cafe’s Tri Color Pizza is a huge hit. Made on fresh, homemade pizza dough featuring three different flavors, it’s no wonder it is a best selling item. But that’s not the only fan favorite. Their Eggplant Parmigiana Tower is like a whole meal rolled into one, topped with Marinara and Mozzarella and surrounded by a bread bowl.
Of course, no meal is complete without dessert, and the Nutella Pizza is a unique one. Nutella on that homemade pizza dough, homemade Zeppoles and caramelized Bananas come together for the sweet tooth in the family. And it would be remiss to not mention their S’mores Milkshake, finished with toasted mini marshmallows and graham cracker, basically a cold hot chocolate or campfire S’more.
Mi Cafe opens Sunday through Thursday starting from 10:30 AM, making it a prime Brunch location (try out their Belgian Waffles as well!), and don't close until 9 PM. In the Winter, they also maintain Motzei Shabbos hours from 1 hour after Shabbos until 11 PM. Proudly under the Kosher Supervision of the BCK and Tarnopol, Mi Cafe is a great spot for the casual/upscale diner and the celebratory parties.
