About Dolce Kosher

Dolce Kosher is a family-run food and pastry business in Rome’s Monteverde Vecchio neighborhood, about a 10-minute drive from the historic Jewish Ghetto. The space combines a pastry shop, café and dining area with outdoor seating, creating a relaxed neighborhood setting for enjoying the family’s Roman Jewish culinary traditions.

Founded in 2004 by the Zarfati family, Dolce Kosher began as Rome’s first Jewish pastry shop and has since grown into a broader food operation offering artisanal bakery products, prepared foods, catering and professional food supply. Today, father-daughter team Mino and Rachel carry forward the family’s culinary traditions.

At the heart of Dolce Kosher is the Zarfati family and its culinary heritage, with recipes and traditions passed down through generations. A special part of that story is Letizia Zarfati, affectionately known as Zi’ Letiziola, whose family recipes helped shape Dolce Kosher’s identity and expand its offerings beyond pastry into lunch and traditional Roman Jewish dishes. The menu brings together a wide selection of Italian and Jewish-inspired specialties, from fresh pasta, lasagna, gnocchi and ravioli to smoked salmon, cod preparations, Israeli salads and dips, alongside Italian pastries such as millefoglie, cream puffs, croissants and Danish pastries, as well as cakes, cookies, gelato and other desserts.

Today, Dolce Kosher continues to build on its reputation for artisanal production, fresh ingredients and attention to detail. Its professional supply service extends beyond the bakery itself, with refrigerated deliveries throughout Italy and the ability to create bespoke selections for clients and events. The business remains closely connected to Rome’s Jewish food culture, with the Zarfati family continuing to preserve and share the traditions that have shaped Dolce Kosher from the beginning.

From a neighborhood pastry shop to a professional food supplier serving clients across Italy, Dolce Kosher brings together generations of family recipes, Roman culinary heritage and contemporary catering expertise.
