About La Matera Miami
Opened in July of 2023, La Matera in North Miami Beach takes its name from mate, the traditional Argentinian tea-like beverage which represents unity and sharing and facilitates conversation and relaxation. This stunning restaurant, situated on Maule Lake, carries those same qualities through its dining experience, offering a menu that is meant to be savored with family and friends.
The cuisine at La Matera is enjoyably eclectic, fusing flavors from across Central and South America with Italian and Mediterranean elements. For example, appetizers include not only Nachos, Tostadas, Tacos, and four varieties of Empanadas, but also Green Ceviche, Tuna Tartar, and vegetarian selections like Grilled Corn and Grilled Vegetable Babaganush. Salads range from a delicious Grilled Caesar to a bright Watermelon, and flatbreads can be adorned with either grilled vegetables, ribeye steak with mushrooms, or tandoori chicken with avocado and tahini. Two pastas, gnocchi and fettuccine, are also available, each with a choice of three sauces.
As would be expected in an Argentinian restaurant, the heart of La Matera’s menu is the parrilla, or grill. Seven different cuts of bife (steak) including a gaucho (cowboy) and tomahawk are on offer, each accompanied by your choice of two sides. There are also several fish options, a burger, and a grilled chicken entree. For a uniquely decadent and shareable experience, order the Argentinian Parrillada, a fun and generous mix of grilled meats, vegetables, and fries, all delivered to your table on its own miniature grill. There are schnitzel and pasta options on a kids’ menu, and you’ll definitely want to save room for dessert — among other sweet treats, La Matera somehow offers the unheard-of option of a pareve Tres Leches (literally, “three milks”) cake. Both wine and several beautiful hand-crafted cocktails make excellent accompaniments to your meal.
La Matera, like the beverage from which its name is derived, delivers an experience that delights and unites. Relax in this beautiful restaurant and “drink it all in”.
Open Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Visit the website for online takeout ordering or to make dine-in reservations.
