Aroma by Nature’s Delight
Located in the heart of Monticello, Aroma by Nature's Delight you feel conflicted to tell people about. You want everyone you now to experience it, but you also want it all for yourself. It has a warm environment not unlike being invited into someone's house, except if that someone also served you food worthy of a food magazine.
Their menu stays with a comfortable rhythm while also including a touch of creativity. For example, the Belgian Waffles are crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and maintains the right level of sweetness to not overwhelm. Then there's the sourdough pizza; it can be topped with fresh vegetables like Broccoli or Cauliflower, the type of inclusion that strikes the right balance with the carbs.
Some places overlook the salads, but not at Aroma. The Greek Salad with za'tar dressing is one keynote item, and the quinoa and sweet potato salad is filling, but keeps you energized instead of tired.
And of course, you can't overlook dessert. their New York-style Cheesecake is the type of item that has you thinking about you next visit, as their molten chocolate souffle.
And being in the Catskills, one thing that you always want to see is outdoor seating. Aroma has a beautful seating area outside that has the vibe of a comfortable cafe.
Citrus Cafe SUMMER ONLY
Open only during the summer months, located on the busy Main Street in Woodbourne, NY you will find Citrus Café, a nice spacious dairy restaurant opened and owned by longtime friend Eli Lederman.
If you are planning on going in for breakfast or Brunch (brunch starting 10:30) the fluffy original pancakes is a fan favorite (2 house pancakes, whipped cream, maple syrup). They also offer French Toast with thick cut bread topped with whipped cream, powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Citrus café is a great place to get together with family or take a break from your day. Start your lunch off with either the Citrus Salad (Arugula,Toasted Walnuts, Cherry Tomatos, Mandarins, Grilled Pineapple and Peaches with a Strawberry Dressing), or perhaps the Mac 'N Cheese or the piping hot Cream of Mushroom Soup (has a trio of roasted mushrooms, garnished with evoo and fresh herbs).
Citrus Café is also great for a night out in the mountains. They offer Chilean Sea Bass (Pan seared with Couscous salad, Green Verts and Heirloom Carrots), and Eggplant Parmesan (fried breaded eggplant, melted Parmesan, garnished with crispy yucca chips), which are a couple of the favorite options. On the sandwiches side, choose from the roasted portabella (roasted marinated portabella mushrooms, peppers, feta cheese) or The Fried Fish (Breaded tilapia, topped with tartar slaw and pickled onions).
Crunchies SUMMER ONLY
Crunchies has always been known for good, fast-casual, and family-friendly comfort food: but in recent season, they've managed to take service up a notch. The stylish decor - a large mural wall, classic diner tables and chairs, wood accents, and warm lighting - and - really ups the experience. The assembly counter is a bustle of colorful activity, and you can watch everything from sandwiches to salads to pad thai (at the special wok station and its fiery burners) get made!
And, in order to accommodate order speed and the many hungry foodies, Crunchies has incorporated a "DMV style" of ordering. After ordering either at the counter, the tablets along the left wall, or online, you receive a buzzer ticket which will inform you of your order number and will light up when your order is ready! Until then, watch the show.
There's truly something for everyone on the Crunchies menu, which makes this the perfect family dinner spot - or order in with friends! The Wok Food Train special allows you to build your own pad thai, or choose a preconstructed combo like the Zhao Pad Thai (with a base of rice noodles and bamboo shoots, mushrooms, red onion, sugar snaps, crispy onions, and Chiang Mai sauce) or the Choi Pad Thai (with a base of basmati rice and baby corn, mushrooms, carrots, red onion, roasted sesame mix, and Chiang Mai sauce). Try a little more international flavor with the Barcelona Schnitzel (Spanish super-crunchy super-spicy schnitzel coated with house special crumbs) and the Bora Bora Salad (brined chicken breast served on a bed of romaine lettuce with radish, purple onion, mandarin, pineapple, crispy granola, and lemon vinaigrette).
You can't leave Crunchies without sampling burgers, sandwiches poppers! The classic Crunchies Burger Delight is served with lettuce, tomatoes, sauteed onions, pickles, and BBQ sauce; the Toast Supreme showcases hot pastrami, tomatoes, sauteed onions, and sweet chili sauce pressed in panini for extra crisp. The 911 Poppers are "intolerable" and delicious with a dangerous dash of habanero sauce - and for those who like it classic, try the Kentucky Nuggets or Crunchies Chicken Lollipops.
For those looking for something lighter, the Crunchies salads are generously sized and chock full of your favorite veggies and proteins. Build your own with the DIY Comprehensive, or choose from menu options like the Supersoft Salad - grilled pesto baby chicken served on romaine lettuce with tomatoes, pickles, and our house dressing. If you want to try something unique, give the Pulled Beef Avocado Crisp a go: avocado balls coated with golden crispy crumbs, crowned with a juicy pulled beef “nest” and micro leaves.
Top it off with one of their frozen cocktails - from Lemonana to Miami Vibe to Country Booster - for a refreshing finish.

The Flame SUMMER ONLY
Back before 2018, Monticello needed a casual and fast style meat restaurant. That's when the FLAME 🔥 was lit. Enter brothers, Shlomie and Sruli Goldenberg, who had a dream to serve the bungalow family crowd. They opened The Flame, a family style restaurant in July of 2018.
This full service Chinese/American restaurant is self-serve and catering orders take 15 minutes or less. But don’t let the speed fool you; this isn’t fast food. Everything is made to order and made with the same level of care and freshness you'd expect from the most high-end of steakhouses. Take the French Fries, for example. Some places may just have them already prepared or even frozen. But at The Flame, they are made fresh with hand cut potatoes.
Before it was The Flame, the location was a mechanic shop with garages and pitched floors for oil drainage. So when it was converted to a restaurant, the garage doors were replaced with huge window bays. The order counter is massive, and while the counters have kiosks, they are set up near the employees in case customers have questions while ordering. The indoor restaurant seats 50 or so, and there is also a side patio which seats 60.
A popular appetizer is the Pulled Brisket Taters which can also be enjoyed by the Gluten Free crowd. And for those looking a for something spicy in their appetizer, the Buffalo Poppers are a go-to.
With a Chinese/American menu, there are options for whatever Fleish food you might want. With American style sandwiches like the Texas Pastrami or Chinese dishes like their Crispy Shredded Beef, everyone who comes in is sure to leave fed and satisfied.
The menu also features vegetarian options and a kid’s menu, not to mention a special Thursday night menu with cholent, kugel, yaptchik, kishka, and even a combo and a platter with the works. Speaking of platters, serve a table with the rack of ribs or southern fried chicken platter. And don’t forget a drink, such as one of the home brewed beverages, or have fun and choose from 60 different flavors from their self serving coke machine.
Flame is all about fun, food and family.
Woodbourne Promenade
Although it only opened the summer of 2025, Woodbourne Promenade has quickly made a name for itself amongst Catskills visitors by blending the vibe of a relaxed outdoor cafe with a fresh and versatile menu. A once house converted into a 2 story building, they are located on the left side on the corner of Hasbrouck Drive and Route 42 in Woodbourne as you enter the busy street. A large parking lot is in the back.
This Summer-only spot has been attracting customers who are looking for a light meal, something refreshing, or a nice sweet treat during the Summer heat. Not to mention the women's only Spin Cycle classes located on the 2nd floor of the promenade.
Owned by Chaim Deutsch of Dougie's and Eli Lederman of Citrus Cafe (both neighboring stores and friends) along with consulting Chef Albert Bijou, the menu is designed to have the food that you want during the summer; the items are simple, colorful, and satisfying while still keeping to the light and easy theme. They have a grab and go showcase with freshly prepared salads, seared tuna, sesame salmon bites and freshly squeezed juices and smoothies among their popular items.
Their Açai Bowls are topped with fresh fruit and granola, making for a naturally sweet and healthy option. Some of their other wraps and bowls provide something a little more substantial, allowing for combinations of different greens and proteins and dressings so you are always getting something to your taste. Their selections of Toasts (yes, I said toasts) turn something simple like bread into a more fulfilling meal, often being paired with Avocado or Ricotta spreads and the like.
Woodbourne Promenade has a pastry case and gelato counter that'll hit that sweet spot when you are having a craving. The Gelato comes in many different flavors, and the serving sizes make it ideal for a post-dinner walk or a short break in the afternoon.
One of the things that really sets Woodbourne Promenade apart is their large outdoor white patio where one can sit and eat at tables, relax in a hanging chair or put your feet up on their couches. The hours have also been designed to fall in-beat with the summer life rhythm. They extend their hours in the evening to make it a natural meet up spot after a day in the great outdoors or on a Motzei Shabbos. This is the time when the neighborhood really comes alive with visitors regularly strolling along the main street.
